What are the society committee elections?

The society committee elections are the elections deciding who will be running the society in the next academic year. This is one way of leading a society.
Elections usually happen in spring time but if you’re a member of a society or on it’s interested list, you’ll receive a notification about any ad-hoc elections that might become available.
A member can chose to apply to be President, Treasurer, Inclusion Officer, or a fourth role of their choice.

Leading a society at Your Students’ Union is an extremely rewarding experience for any student. These voluntary roles equip you with a whole range of new skills such as:

  • Effective oral and written communication
  • Financial management
  • Project planning and execution
  • Team management and leadership

You can also get rewarded by our very own Leadership Awards and Leadership Badges, which are compatible with LinkedIn and recognized by employers.
